Yeh, I had a feeling this might be the case, As the GDA-B seems to have a wider track. I havent found too many people using later model wrx gear in libs yet on the forums :/ ( what have i gotten myself into :P )

I'm also planning on using the lsd diff from the wreck and found that the cv's in the GD's are longer.... tho this could be ok as i plan to run a fairly large lift and this could end up helping?

GD racks have fine spline rather than coarse on the earlier cars. Not really a big deal as you will have to make a coupling for the lift anyway and can just make a hybrid version. Rack ends are easy to change over.

If the rear shafts don't work out you can just use Gen 2 NA shafts.

cheers for the info, i will need to run the steering coloum from the wrx also as the barrel is all linked up to the wiring loom and cant be removed.

the rear diff runs the 'female' style stub axels so ill see how these fit up witht he lift. :/
