Gen 1 EJ22 'Little End' bearings...

Post by Xtreme_RX » Wed Aug 20, 2008 4:53 pm

Looking for a little help here...

I have a 6/91 Gen 1 EJ22 I am rebuilding.
After disassembly & inspection the 'little end' (Gudgeon pin to con rod) bearings on 2 of the con rods are completely stuffed.

There are no aftermarket ones available that I can find.
Genuine Subaru one comes with a new con rod.

But the Gen 2 (6/94+) EJ22 lists the 'Little end' bearings as a part.

My question is the con rods the same between the Gen1 & Gen2 EJ22? Do they share the 'Little end' bearings??

Thanks in advance - Justin

First I must say a HUGE thanks to Andy (FROG) for his help on finding a part number for the conrod bushes from the later model EJ22.

The answer is Yes they fit.

Apparently ALL liberty (EJ22,EJ20,EJ25) use the same conrod bush/bearing
