The stay rod bracket is on the gearbox on EJs. Some EA boxes had a bracket that you can use, or an EJ one might fit. A-Part wreckers in Malaga had several gearboxes sitting on the shelf with the necessary brackets last time I was there.

was having trouble with my car not starting and figured out it was the starter motor so had to keep on wacking it on the occasion it wouldnt kick over.
So finally got around to changing it last night and today it did it again. Only the once so far but its pretty inconvenient xometimes. Is this common with ej conversions? Or maybe because of the adapter plate has pushed it further back?
Also anyone have the engine stay rod bracket off the ej engine?
Cheers for the help
Here's that wiring diagram I mentioned to you Scott :)

what do you guys think of 15" mags off a vortex? i dont know for sure if they actually ever came out with the vortex though. I know a guy who has them lying around and they dont have quite the same appeal as the sunraysia's but give me more tyre options and are 4 stud so no stuffing around.
was thinking of spraying them matte black or something so they dont look as gay. i dont have a pic but will try and get something up.
its Pauls' friend so maybe paul might have or know where to get a pic from???

Here you go Scott.. I'd use them on an L.Series (I would but I brought the crossbred kit) They are great because they are rare

coming from the guy who had chromies on his L series.....(from memory not 100% sure, hehe)
but you are right they arent the best looking out, maybe a spray of black would make them look half normal.

Paul, with my 4" lift and those tyres that are on there or similar AT's, how much guard word would i be doing do you think???
oh and thanks for the pic, waiting to see how much Jarred wants to flog them off for, if cheap then i may

No good at photochop-shop but maybe someone else could help?

As for the rims on your car.. I'm guessing that because they are on the unlifted Vortex then you will have no issues on your L.. Tyres would be a test and see kinda thing.. do you know your tyre shop really well?

i dont know them that well. have been there a couple of times but dont really like them that much. although never really liked tyres shops a hell of a lot.
do you have any suggestions of decent places???
maybe the vortex has bigger wheel arch's? because they look fairly standard on JArred's vortex as if it came out with those rims.
can get them for cheap so might do that and see if i can get them painted before the weekend :D

oh and Jarred's wife wanted to ask me to ask you Paul if you knew if Jarred's hoist was easy to use(like yours) as i will grab the rims tomorrow. so either i can take them off or even if you were in the area you could maybe loosen them off for me til i get there in the arvo??
cheers

I don't think the wheel arches are bigger but if they are it would be just a little. I can operate his hoist and also I can help you take the wheels off.. Just give me a ring before you head over there :)
