Praying XT6 bits at last .

Post by discopotato03 » Mon Dec 28, 2009 10:49 am

I may have found a source of XT6 brake and hub hardware bits fingers crossed but probably wouldn't use all of it so others here may be interested .
The source has all four corners/front control arms/both anti roll bars and at my request those all important front axle shafts .

The things I want most are the rear backing plates and naturally the hubs and disks , calipers I believe are the same .
At the front the factory hybridised bits I think are the calipers mounting brackets and the slide pins which use a different thread to our RS Lib ones .
XT6 front axle shafts are important because they are an in between size length wise . Basically a longer than RX , shorter than Lib , 25 spline shaft .

Lets see what Santa brings , cheers A .

You have XT6 parts in Australia?

So tell us why you arent using the all the brakes and hubs from this XT6

Not yet , XT6 knuckles are slightly different to early Lib as in the bit that bolts to the strut is thicker/wider than the 2 bolt bracket on the strut .
Also not 100% sure but the CV may be slightly different too - sort of OE pre Lib prototype .

I think it would be better to use locally available front stuff but you need the XT6 caliper bracket and slide pins to get the L caliper bridge to go bolt .

I think dimensionally the early Lib rear disc is very similar to the XT6 so with a machining nip here and there should work out ok .

So why not go Crossbred conversion kit and use all lib stuff?

if you are doing a 5 stud swap you only need the rears. swap the brake to the rear and use the XT6 hubs only. lot easier.
