L Series Height Control

Post by maddog » Wed Aug 09, 2006 10:07 pm

L Series Touring Wagon 1986 (tailgate sticker says 1.8 ST AT) and has Height Control.
My question is does anyone know anything about it? The car is sitting at a funny angle - looks like a huge weight on the drivers side which sits about 2 inches lower than the passenger side...would it have anything to do with Height Control having failed on one side?? Help...!@#$% Thanks...heaps...

Sounds like you have a blown airbag on that side. If you really want to retain the air suspension a new one will set you back about $500 but for way less you can convert all 4 corners over to coils

Sometimes the scu (suspension control unit) doesnt read the sensor in the airbag, if it is too low or been damaged (driving on a flat bag). I dont have any leakes in my air bags, but I do have a dogy sensor.
I find if I disconect the battery, jack up the corner that is flat ( or find a deep pothole or ditch), re connect the battery, It will fix it stal. also, sometimes, if i put it on high for a while and drive, it will also fix itself.

I have also previously earthed the solenoid (negative earth car) and that will charge the solenoid and let air in ( as long as the compressor is running and there is air in the system)
