You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

What!! This is the first post I have ever read that says that the EA81S is mediocre. Well I'll be.RSR 555 wrote:I had a complete car (ex-japan) and although it was ok.. it was nothing special. I believe you get but power and torque from the Weber conversion. But saying this.. if you setup the EA81S with the right carby combo then you could have something pretty special. The EA81 engine is one of the most indestructible engines around (I have seen some pretty sad ones during the rally days) but all in all they were/are pretty strong.

I thought the original buy it now for $350 was asking a bit much! I guess someone else had something in mind with that purchase price! You'd hope that price included the old block too!! I'd probably be relieved to hear that and think it an acceptable price for what it is and its rarity...

.... I'm thinking maybe I should sell my dualie EA81, after seeing that price for just the carbs! I could do with that kind of money!
