Conversion from 98 gt forester to 97 wrx??

Post by RiKtAh09 » Thu Jan 14, 2010 4:03 pm

I have a 98 gt forester auto with a blown engine, i want to upgrade the motor to a wrx and have found a good priced 97 wrx halfcut manual with under 100,00km..ive been told the gear ratios are different so need to replace the diff centre, does anyone know of any problems that will occur during the conversion or know of a better swapover for the 98 model..with the halfcut you get engine, ecu, wiring loom and gearbox so i assume there should be no problems..any info would be much appreciated..cheers...

you will need to replace the rear diff or front diff inside the gearbox to match.
There is no ratio in the centre diff.
The swap over should be straight forward as long you have the electrics right to match in both Impreza and Foz.
Cheers
