Xmas Dinner - Turducken

Post by stinky » Wed Jan 04, 2006 4:48 pm

For Xmas dinner with the family I cooked a Turducken. For those who don't know it's a Turkey stuffed with a Duck stuffed with a chicken. With spicy pork stuffing between each layer.

Damn tasty dish! but took a *lot* of prep time and 8 hours in the oven!

Here's pics:

Recipe is easy enough, just google "turducken" :)

If you plan to make one, get the butcher to bone the birds rather than do it yourself, save you a heap of time. Just make sure they know to keep them in one piece.

Also it's $150+ worth of fowl ( that was buying organic/free range all the way though) ... so it's not a cheap endevour!

Oh and yeah I got a bucketload of leftovers in the oldies freezer, I'll probably take them into work and slowly make my way through it in sandwichs etc.
