Convert the RX or get an outback?

Post by chriso » Fri Jan 04, 2008 11:18 am

I've got a Gen2 RX wagon that I want to put a lift kit on, get bigger tyres and maybe get a Dual range box for it, maybe turbo it later on. Should I just sell it and get an outback? I'm guessing maybe $1200 for suspension and tyres. Whats a D/R AWD g/box worth for one of these?

Keep it its a nice car and Lift it with Outback Suspension - for the suspensions and springs can get you upto $600 roughly guess....

That wagon.. how much is it worth? and you do know that Liberty since you own it, its a lot of bother finding a good outback wagon and its already lifted etc.... The price of Outback verses $600 for suspensions!!!!

D/R Box - Depends where you find one - I found one once for $125 with 3.9 diff. One of the wreckers in Dandenong is asking for $600 for Outback box.

Are you planning to go offroad?
Cheers

Yeah Lift it, go on..... I have a Gen 3 RX wogon, and its lifted and its the best thing I could have done to it.
The only thing thats diffrent between yours and an Outback is the suspension and two tone paint.
Without doing the box I think mine cost me about $1800.00 and thats useing all new KYB struts, king springs, s/hand lift kit, new tyres and s/hand rims as I wonted to get a taller tyre so took the 16" off and got some 15" for it.
Since then the car has not missed a beatand has gone well up the beach.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Im now all grown up to an outback with a 2" lift and outback struts, ready to go off road and take on the world.

Yeah I agree.. its a sexy RX wagon with 2.5 with nice features... really the difference between RX & outback is the body kit and suspensions & Dual Range is missing, that all. I would lift it - I was also looking for RX but i found mine and I'm happy with it.
