L series gearbox tunnels

Post by 85wrx » Sun Oct 14, 2007 1:31 pm

I am contemplating my next build. I was just wondering if there is much difference between the shapes and heights of an L series tunnel fitted with a manual or auto 4wd gearbox. I am assuming that the auto box would be larger therefore a larger tunnel.

The earlier pre 84s where definately smaller with a manual transmission, dont know about the early L series but they appear to be the same size auto to manual.

I wonder where my 3/87 auto 4WD turbo sedan fits in ? if it is like the earlier ones coz it is 3 plug ecu. The changeover may have occured after March. Does this mean the mounting holes for a manual tranny xmember has to be longer too ??
