WackyBug
I didn't take a trace, and to be honest my plate hardly followed the pre-marked texta lines at all. It's easy to make one with no template at all, all you need is the EJ engine, EA gearbox with flywheel and use them as a template. Best to do it that way for maximum accuracy.

Wiring harness is 85% complete.
I know u said u wanted buttons and switches on the dash for the ignition but there may be a problem beacause they would all have to be water proof. Wacky doesn't really offer much moisture protection.

Cool thanks Dave.
Yeah I will most likely buy some nice waterproof toggle switches from d1cky Smith or something. (Altho Devil Dave apparently already bought all these ages ago, I'll have to find out).

Quick update;
WackyBug now has the beginnings of a rollcage. I took her over to Vidler's place today for some quick welding action. Basically two rather long lengths of box section run from front to back now with another piece between to brace them. These are welded to the inside of the body.
I can jump up and down on the rear and she doesn't flex at all anymore.
I also removed all of the original MY wiring and fitted the EJ22 exhaust headers today.
Now she just needs a fuel pump, a fuel return line, the EJ wiring harness installed and the guages / switches.
I'll have do something about a rear section of exhaust at some point too I spose.
I was just looking up some figures on the old engine vs the new engine. This is scary.
Some of the WA boys will remember how fast WackyBug was with just the original EA81...
EA81 - 73hp
EJ22 - 135hp
Do the maths!!

Yeah a little on the wagon, I've cut the flatbar I need for repairing the captive nuts. Havn't found a place with 50mm box section for the Lib control arm adaptors yet tho.

box section probably 50 x 40. 4mm wall thickness.
would only need about 1m length wise.

Andrew there is a metal shop across the road of the bunnings on Balcatta Rd up our way.
They would do the metal you need. and they seam more than happy to cut it off into the size bits you want. I bought a bit of metal there for $1.20.

Yep Metalcorp? I have massive amounts of leftover box section at my place because they won't sell it by the metre only by the length :P And they don't have the specific size I need for this job at the moment... I'm gonna try Midalia when I can get there.

Update;
Today I laid out the EJ wiring loom in WackyBug and hooked up a few things.
Also made a dashboard out of some checkerplate (Thanks Vidler for the offcut!) complete with two toggle switches and a pushbutton starter button.
I'll cut the holes for the temp and tach gauges later.
As it stands now, to get her driving she needs
- Fuel system. I need to fit a MPFI fuel pump and install a fuel return line.
- Radiator. I need to custom mount the liberty radiator
- Electrics. I need to wire up the fuel pump and radiator fans and hook the power up to the ECU. Also wire up the alternator.
Thats about it.
Mechanically she really needs the front two driveshafts swapped for the new ones I have, and the welded diff installed - but nearly ready to drive anyways!
