New disty cap doesnt fit

Post by Gannon » Wed Jun 20, 2007 7:15 pm

I bought a new disty cap for my ea82t, 4plug, but it doesnt fit.
The i have now is a hitachi, and the one i bought is a bosch, and according to the catalogue, its the right one. Both have screws (not clips) but the new one is slightly smaller.
Anybody had this problem?

Yes, for the EFI EA82's there are 3 differnt caps 1 for the early 3 plug, one for the early 4 plug, one for the late 4 plug and none of them are interchangable. Best bet is to take your old one into Repco as they usually have them in stock.

Bosch package don't mean it only fits Bosch for starters (trust you figured that)
my champion chart got JP630 for 83 to 88 ohc (efi/carb not specfied) JP594 for 85 to 87 RX turbo efi and vortex, JP648 is for Denso dizzys. The Bosch part number should share the same 3 digits

rotor buttons different too!
