CRACK ... what a pain to find the turbo wobbles a bit on the crossover pipe.

It is bloody cracked 3/4 the way around on the turbo mounting flange where the weakest point appears to be the inside of the weld of pipe to flange on the outside. The crack is about 8mm below the topside of the flange.

My 'spare' pipe i then #@*&^ discover is cracked too near the oil filter :( :(

What is your best advice to repair these ? 36mm inside dia access hole

intend to get a bit of same calibre zaust pipe and practice with my stick welder first.

just because a mate has a mig does not mean he can weld but i can 'use' it

the big crack on pipe #2 i think to weld it up then weld a band aid size strip over it for strength

thought of putting a WANTED notice on EXTREMErx EA82T powerpipe post but no find it under conversions, group buys, general

thanks,

just to clean up a thread... instead of getting piddled off about two cracked pipes, I went and saw my trusty zaust man. he migged up me crack before i could stick ma hand in ma pocket for some readies, and didn't have to bother ! Got be worth a six pack on Friday

Here i was thinking I need some pipe to set up & practice on, on a borrowed mig. Immediate problem solved

Side note for the trivia buffs. These pipes are known as stainless, or rather a mix of stainless and mild steel ? Every engine pipe leading to the cat converter needs to be to stop some sort of filth/carbon building up on the insides then blocking the cat.
