Dual range lib box,ej20T conversion

Post by cruzingbrumby » Tue Jun 06, 2006 9:34 am

How will the dual range box stand upto the EJ20T, I want to do a turbo conversion but finding a manual frontcut is proving pretty hard, an auto is cheap but is there much trouble changing from auto to manual in the wiring loom. was planning on doing the full swap of everything.

As far as auto to manual in the wiring side of things, there is just a neutral bypass that needs to be closed. But im not 100% how the EJ Wiring loom splices into the EA harness.

I used an auto in mine. I can't remember exactly what I did, but I just connected up all the wires in the diagrams assuming it was a manual and it worked.

Dual range box will cope with sensible driving. If you play boy racer and do 5000rpm launches all the time it not last 6 months. Subaman has been running one in his car for over 2 years now with one box failure. Although that was a bearing failure more than gearset failure.

that sounds good, no boy racer for me just a decent car that can overtake up hills, and get me around the country

now the next question, are the dashes different in the auto and manual libs ?

or even better, where can I get a series 2 manual front cut, have tried every importer i can find on the web in sydney, and trolled through the yellowpages and rang every place that said import but no joy at the moment.
