Brake light problem. Fuse?!?

Post by jujutelly » Wed Jul 17, 2013 11:07 pm

I have a 1999 Impreza RX (non-turbo) EJ20 GC8.

Noticed today both my brake lights are out, only the brake lights not the park brake lights. Also the spoiler brake light works, so its only the brake lights.

Had a quick look for fuses and could only find the ones under the bonnet (all checked out good with continuity test).

Are there other fuses that anyone knows of? Or I'm I possibly just unlucky and have blown both filaments?!?

Thanks fella's

Would say you need new brake lights only 5 dollars to find out :)

Don't you know how to get to the globes? If $5 is too much to test them, just buy one globe for $2.50 and test each side individually.

Agreed! The filaments may not look broken but they can be toast, this happened to a mate's liberty recently. Got a two pack of stop/tail globes for $3.90 (from memory) and problem sorted - and we've got a spare in the glovebox ;)

Cheers
