1982 MY wagon wiring overhaul.
Not a problem mate. I did a dash conversion a while back from the digi to the 6 gauge analog and wrote down the colors then. They were slightly different but I think the colors will match for the signals.
Ok, digging in the glove box this is what I got,
The bible . second color is the stripe.
Blue-white = 4WD dash light (x2 because its an isolated loop)
Blue = Choke dash light
Red-white = Hibeam dash light
Red = Hibeam return line (Isolated GND for the hibeam dash light)
Yellow-blue = parking brake dash light
Black-white = Ignition
black = GND (multiple of this wire)
Blue-black = Left rear door dash light
Green-yellow = Left front door dash light
Green-black = Right front door dash light
Blue-pink = Right rear door dash light
Green-pink = turn right blinker dash light
Green-blue = turn left blinker dash light
Yellow-black = AT fluid dash light
Yellow-black stripe (different to the other yellow-black, thin stripe) = engine oil dash light
White-black = brake fluid dash light
Red-blue = cluster lights negative
Red = cluster lights positive (? donno about this, could be because it comes from a different plug or something.....bit vague, sorry )
Thats all I have listed. Ive since recrimped my own wires into the round cluster plugs so I cannot really comment on the other wires. Hope this helps you get started.
Here are some of the plugs that come out under the dash If it helps. I still need to pin out the wiper plug.
Regards
Doug

Telltale ...
Yep - you should see it in the lower 1/3 of center indicators :
Note : that would be the diagram on far right for analogue ...

Benny,The only thing "left" to work out is the 4wd lights - Doug, do you know if the 6 gauge cluster has the lights for hi/lo 4wd?
Bantum's diagram is correct for an 'MY' touring wagon, however if you source the analogue sports dash from a coupe or sedan
(which are still hard but easier to find) then the lower 1/3 section of the dash lights (below beam) is actually blacked over on the
covering lens, where 4wd and lo should be, plus there are no coloured lenses underneath, nor illumination bulbs or wires running to
the dash plug from the 4wd gear lever or gearbox low, respectively.
I appreciate this thread has deviated away from SubyDoug's nice work on his wagon, (sorry SubyDoug) so if anyone is interested
in a thread on how I've just modded my sports dash to incorporate 4wd/lo,
let me know and I will start one.
Cheers, John
