rear brake drum same as fwd??

hey i really need some decent rear brake drums for my 88 lseries 4wd, are they the same as the 2wd ones? a friend has got a good set off a 2wd, cheers for the advice

I'd say no.

Not sure on L series but Brumby (4WD) versus Leone (2WD) are different since the 4WD drum has splines for the driveshaft.

Same for the L.. only 4WD ones will fit.

2WD ones only hold the bearings.. so no spline for the CV joint.

Sounds correct, so maybe put in a want ad title" L Series 4WD rear drums wanted" as so many are wrecking or have stuff laying about for these ( another thing I left on my wreck when it was towed away ....)
