Can i replace a ej18 with a ej16??

Post by guyph_01 » Mon Oct 31, 2011 7:54 pm

Hi guys.

My friend bought a lifted L series a while back and it had a ej16 incl loom and ecu in the back ready to be used as a conversion. He recently bought a 96 impreza for his girlfriend that had a blown engine. he though he would replace the engines only thing the impreza has a ej18.

So i was wandering if a ej16 would run with a ej18 loom?

He is not after power and its a 2wd auto that his girlfriend is gonna use as a daily.

Thx

Are they both MPFI?

If you swapped the intake manifold and all associated sensors, i dont see it will be a big problem, Im sure somebody on this forum has done it before
