Spare wheel carrier

Post by JPM » Wed Jan 19, 2011 7:20 pm

Hi all,

Just a little idea that I am progressing, one that will hopefully see me with a functional spare wheel carrier similar to the Gravel Express.

I've seen some of the custom built ones on these boards, and they are awesome, but my fabrication skills do not exist.

Instead of custom building one of my own, I started looking at other models that are getting around with external spare carriers. I looked at Kia Sportages, Honda's and finally found what I was looking for on a Mitsubishi RVR.

It is similar to the one on the Gravel Express, but swings out to the left side and won't need a whole hell of a lot of modification to fit to the Impreza.

I was lucky enough today to pick up an entire RVR rear bumper, complete with external rear carrier for $200.

I'll post pictures of the fitting process, hopefully that will happen next week.

Regards

Jayd

Sounds like a bargain, I paid $250 for mine but well worth it, so much room in the wheel well for junk.
