Liberty Fuel tank under a Forester???

Post by SKT » Thu Dec 23, 2010 9:59 am

I was chatting with a guy the other day who said the 60L Liberty fuel tank will bolt straight under a Impreza of the same year.
Got me thinking..... I wonder could I replace my 50L out of my 2000 Foz with a 60L from a Lib....

Any experience or hard facts out there on this matter???

99% it will fit as they are identical underneath, you sure it's only 50L as they usually only went under fwd's which you need to change if you go awd because of the tail shaft, some of the early Impreza's awd's also had the 50L, it's pretty easy to tell by looking underneath because the 60L drops down either side of the tail shaft and the 50L only drops down on the drivers side..................I'm pretty sure that's how it works from what I've seen anyhoo.

I'm 99.9% sure its only 50L. I've filled it up a few times ;)

I will definately have a squiz under there though to be sure.

Thx for the info.

You'd want a 60 litre tank for the H6!!

Hope it works out.

Cheers
