EJ20??

can anyone tell me if a 1996 impreza RX (EJ20) would be SOHC or DOHC?
i found a written off one but the bloke couldnt tell me if it was SOHC or DOHC and its pretty far away so i dont wanna go out for no reason

Should be SOHC.

If it doesnt have Turbo then it'll be likely SOHC. I could be wrong.

the bloke said it was quad cam although i dont think he knew that well so it still might be worth the drive

the last NA EJ I looked at was quad cam. ( this was in a forester) plugs were up top though instead of middle.

if thats the case im not goin to be able to get out there for like two weeks so i'll have to hold tight and hope that it doesnt sell

I would. if all you want to do is replace a tired engine then to me it would be worth it.
