ej20 knock sensor swap-out

Post by Alex » Mon Dec 07, 2009 11:48 pm

hey everyone,

so my 01 lib has been throwing a code for a while now, i thought id do something about it as it was retarding power.

went to change out the knock sensor this arvo and noticed the whole cam cover has to come off just to change the bloody thing, you can get it about 75% of the way out then it hits the cam cover.

Is this correct or am i doing something wrong?

cheers in advance

Sure your not trying to take off the cam angle sensor?
The knock sensor is to the (if standing in front of the car) LH side of the throttle body, in the block, held in by 1 x 10mm or 12mm bolt.
