92 Liberty problems

Post by outback02 » Sun Mar 01, 2009 10:03 pm

My 92 Liberty GX wagon went nuts on me yesterday on a 1.5hour drive, first started surging and losing power, then cut out at the lights, re started ok but again did the same thing, somehow managed to get home with it, it drove ok for about 45 min then started again.. changed plugs and leads which was good for the car anyway but later realised did not fix the problem.I checked engine for faults and got codes for throttle body position sensor, mass air sensor, and BAC. i cleared the codes and left my driveway for the recommended clearing run, i got 2 houses down and it got bad and i nearly was unable to start it again but managed to get home, now i tried disconnecting the throttle sensor to see how it goes, idles alot higher in the rev dept but seems to have no problem in driving (time will tell) i gave the mass air and bac a quick spray but im no genius when it comes to checking ecu for volts etc any other suggestions? i have to be in perth for work tomorrow and its a 3 hour drive
