L Series turbos stats for Oz ?

Has anyone got stats for how many L Series turbos came out to Australia via Subaru in the 80's ? I am old enough to remember the era but back then, to me, Subarus were just not grabbing my attention. I only remember a white RX burble past me, looking at a white GLTA 4 speed AWD with the intention to buy (think it is the one Lturbo has now, and have really only spotted two or three others in recent years.

They are quite thin on the ground twenty years later, but I suspect they were anyway. Judging by the number of surprised people when I show 'em my turbo and efi in the old girl, even mechanics are surprised and almost suspicious I am pulling their leg. Then there are the Cops are Tops guys that have given the beast a glance on hearing a Rex note in the neighbourhood, look is sort of dirty/confused.

I reckon Outback Bloke may have best access to these stats?
