speedo cable won't reach after conversion and lift
after conversion from auto to manual d/r of the L series, and a byb 3 inch lift kit my speedo cable won't reach the socket in the gearbox, and if i try to pull a bit more through the firewall the socket just pulls out of the back of the instrument sluster, any suggestions? do the manual L series have a longer speedo cable?
cheers,
Gus.

There is a lot of different cable lengths. I think the MY auto ones were the longest. Email Sunspares and they can find a long one for you and post it out. [email protected]
Same happened to me when I did my auto to manual conversion in a L-series, and that was without any lift. I just got muddy to go and rip a manual one out of some one else’s car
and give it to me.
There is a difference between the auto and manual lengths and in an L-series. The manual cable is a fair bit longer, you will need one.

LTurbo, the rest of the conversion has been on hold over the break, have got a long weekend coming up this weekend so time to finish a few jobs off, I had actually forgotten about the reverse lights- cheers for reminding me!
Have still got to put the front driveshafts in, its been a rwd suby for a month or so now, great fun, but the mud is starting to re-appear around this place so 4wd will be good to have soon....
How is yours going/gone? I got a multimeter for xmas so that will hopefully help with finding reverse.....
cheers,
Gus.
