gemini clutch?

Post by preno » Wed Nov 12, 2008 3:03 pm

So i will be attempting a 5speed conversion to my brumby soon an i remember reading in the ausubaru tech manual that a gemini clutch can be used with the ea81 flywheel and pressure plate. As it has the same spline count as the 5speed box. Has anyone done this here? just wanting to know as i can get my hands on a near new gemini clutch pretty cheap. Tried looking up the info again on the tech manual but seems to be deleted and a whole heap of spam instead

it was found here
http://www.ausubaru.com/wiki/index.php? ... ANSMISSION

any extra info on this setup would be great.

thanks

matt

The gemini clutch plate was to be used with the standard EA81 pressure plate if for some reason you didn't want to replace an 8" EA81 flywheel with the EA82 9" flywheel.

If you do use the EA82 flywheel or have a 9" EA81 flywheel you just use a standard EA82 clutch kit.

The EA82 flywheel will bolt directly onto the EA81 with no mods other than possibly enlarging the inspection hole at the bottom of the engine.
