i've already got a square plug alternator on her, and i know it charges as if i bumpstat it down my driveway and drive southwards to a place i like to surf ~45mins i can leave it and it'll start again from the charge built up from the drive a few hours later, i've checked everything thats obvious but i did hear a slight humming at one stage coming from the engine itself after it was installed and turned off couldn't locate the source though

We used to have problems with Falcon batteries dying after a few hours, it was always the starter motor that was causing it, got a spare you can swap?..........negative polarising or something like that it was called, we always had to replace the starter.
The car would be fine with a jump, just dead next time you'd go to start it again.

Sounds like a back feed through the alternator. How was the new one wired up? From memory, when you convert from round to square you need a diode in the system.. but check with Dave (subarino) I could be wrong

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

on uni break so kind of looking for things to keep me occupied had an rs bar lying around and figured i'd fit it to the liberty

still have a lot of sanding to do and the painting to do,
but i was just wondering about the legalities to the wiring of the front fog lights, do they needed to be wired into the factory lights or is wiring them independently acceptable...
