I had the RX cups ready to put into my L for my gearbox conversion (25 spline) - but the RX cups were too big too fit onto the ball of the standard L shaft. It must be my mistake about the outers however (apologies) - but unless I was given the wrong ones to start with - RX cups will not fit on the standard ball. I think Postie is also an expert on CVs now after his conversion.
I think fang means that the ball cage for the RX is larger than that of MPFI and stock cups. If you get the MPFI cups (with the 25 splines) you can just change your cups from the standard ones as the cage fits in these.

The outer CV (on the hub side) is whats the same on all models - i think this is what Mechawagon means.

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Cross communications, what would the world be like without them eh?

Cheers

I go to u-pull it. Look for ones with good boots. Pull 'em in under 20mins. Pay $25. Then through them in my ute. It's a quick job once you know what your doing. And for $25, I don't even care if they only last 15,000kms. Sometimes it pays to pull the boots back and through some more moly grease in there though.

The cv's from Kempsey are crap, l've broken them and had bearings disintergrate in them and nearly all have done this under 12 months, try to get him to replace them without an arguement, anyway l got sick of doing this so l bought a set of Turner's from Andrew Medieke's on Hastings River Drive and have not had a problem since. They were about $200 c/o and come with a two year warrenty, l've had mine for about that, no noise, no cracks in boots, no grease splattered all over the engine bay. Granted they may be a bit more and mine are the standard 23 spline, but they have been pushing my turbo around now for 15 months without complaint.

I have always purchased cv's from the Australian cv joint centre, originally in NSW (Rydalmere)10yrs ago. They are distributed nationally with outlets in Slacks creek QLD and Balcatta Perth.
It has been ages since i purchased so who knows what they are worth now, but I can tell you it was a quality product, great warranty and they lasted.. had a tour of their factory and all. Very impressed

give them a call and find out who stocks them closest to you.
