Blow off Valves on turbo motors
In my previous Brumby I was running LPG only and an Air / Water intercooler. For tyre / CV life I ran factory (6 PSI ? ) as a daily driver. When silliness was required I ran it around 16 PSI up to 20 PSI and one accidental deviation up to 24 I think
It always seemed to run out of puff around 5000 RPM. Anybody with a theory on that one ? I did once put the tacho needle on the OTHER side of the red line with a jammed throttle cable 8O it actually took a long time to get there, a couple of seconds before I twigged and killed the ignition
I ran it like that for 2 years or so without a hiccup. I never noticed any pinging but then I was more worried about manifold pressures and keeping the thing going in a straight line.
