HID install Hi & Lo - confused...

Post by AlpineRaven » Fri Jul 25, 2008 9:52 pm

G'day,
I have HID kit here plugged it in, it works but full beam & HID is on together at low beam, if I flick on full beam HID goes out but full beam, HID goes funny as it'll flick on and off with full beam at the same time - looks like the priority is incorrect...

I checked out with multimedia, at full beam (looking at the female plug) its showing negative with top pin is positive, right pin is showing no power.

On low beam, left pin is showing positive with top pin is negative and left pin is postive... that is where the HID gets confused...

Get my drift? Is there correct way or switch to use HIDs?
Cheers

Probably not your kit, but some good info here that may help;

Without seeing anything/knowing you, and as it says in the above, i'd be leaning towards a dodgy ballast.

Maybe this also;

Yep I got it worked out, Have to separate the negative wires because it was causing conflict.

You might have to run relays and change it to positive switching, perhaps, as Subaru use negative switching as standard.
