Soundpoofing? I have 2 thick layers of proofcoat on the inside of the roof on mine, after fully sikaflex-ing the beams to the skin, then a layer of silvered mylar insulation, an inch and a half layer of wadding insulation, then the original pocketed plastic roof lining. It sounds a lot of work, but really it's not. And the effect? I honestly cannot hear the rain even when it's pelting down.

As for the car we're working on... The "midnight blue" is now done on the inside of everything, so now it's just the outside to paint next week.

I wish to clarify something to everyone. One of us received a private message which was less than nice and totally wrong.

On each post , when it reads WE , it means ROSS and MYSELF mostly. Steve does the unforgettable panel work that most reply about. It is ROSS and MYSELF that strips the cars, cleans the cars , cleans the parts, orders the parts, fits the parts, sands the panels and anything else you can think of.

Also it was ROSS and MYSELF who started the idea of doing the cars for free labor as we are on a pension each. We are getting paid so why should we get paid again by charging people. And last but not least, it is ROSS'S place that all of this is done. His power and most of his tools etc.

Ah, forget the PM, look at that paint work! Can't wait to see the whole thing done in the midnight blue.

My bro's mini is in the process of changing colour - from sky blue to midnight blue. Its been a 2 year process so far :???:

So, i'm guessing your aim is to paint the town blue - with subarus :p

Keep up the good work guys! Thats for all of you ;)

Cheers

Today we all got into cleaning up the wheels that are to go on the car. Took them back to bare metal. As some may have seen , there was a ad for 13'' rims with a wider off set. These look like the subaru sports rims but have a wider dish/off set.
Thanks goes to the member on the forum for the rims.

Un F**&ing believable!

You guys do excellent work, and your posts are great.

You are motivating me to get back into an older subi - thanks.

I would love to see a couple of your products in the flesh one day - I reckon they would present better than new ones. And I've been around long enough to remember seeing new MY's in dealers showrooms.

Keep up the great work - you guys are legends!
Willie.

Those wider rims look good - they should set the car off nicely with the right tyres on 'em.

No pics today. Most people know what a car looks like when it is sanded back. Not much different to what it looks like before it is sanded.

Big clean up to day. Put things away and clean and sweep ready for tomorrow . If all goes to plan , tomorrow is the day to lay the color down. Hopefully some pics tomorrow showing a very dark blue M.Y.
