my hatch is dead and buried

Post by vidler » Tue Jan 17, 2006 7:49 pm

heres a story.... me and dave have recently been wrecking the MY wagon we picked up for free... well we finished stripping it and i dragged it up the driveway to get picked up today and specifically told the bloke only to take the stripped one at the top of the drive way and not the one in the car port... i got home this arvo and ther was a pile of smashed glassand no hatch... the dick heads took both. i called em straight away but there was already a damn EL falcon dropped on its roof.... so my hatch is dead coz some stupid useless drongos getting beer money by collecting dead cars... they are giving me $500 and the plates back but that aint the Fkn point.

im pisse off

Sweet jesus - that is one hell of a right royal screw up. They took it out of the carport??? I would be swinging a large blunt instrument. $500 is nothing. You have my sympathies - I am gonna think twice if I ever call the crushers again.

WHAT?!?!? THEY KILLED MATCHIE!!!! or is that hatchie II

I can't believe it, one of the rarest cars in aus and they killied it, I reckon you should tell 'em they owe you a replacement and if they can't find one they have to import it.

I can't see it working but I would be at the very least SERIOUSLY pissed.

Sorry to hear it dude, I here by call a moments silence.

Post by coupe » Tue Jan 17, 2006 9:07 pm

Aw Mate
SH*T that sucks big time 8O 8O 8O
I know that they tried to fix up the horrible mistake but
when they dragged Matchie out of the carport .. that was stealing.
There getting off lightly over the whole issue.
If you know any body in the police force or can get some legal advice
then you should look into it further..seriously..
All that aside Mate im sorry that you were robbed of what was going to be a very cool car.
My wife is a firm believer in something good always comes from things like this. :)

I can't see any way it could have been partly Jays fault.... The guy was told to pick up ONE car.

There was one, well wrecked, car dragged out near the road for pick up. Although some f**king how they assumed the, fully assembled, locked up, running car... in the car port... was also a wreck.

They are in the wrong big time... i would not be soo calm about it if it was me. I would be seeking legal action... although i do understand if you decided to put it all behind you.

Tough break Jay... i feel bad for ever taking the wreck to your place now. :( I un-invertantly lead to Hatch Jnrs death.

Sorry man

sucks

Post by coupe » Tue Jan 17, 2006 10:21 pm

Sh*t if the car was in the car port in pieces then i could understand the mix up ..but if it was complete then thats theft pure and simple.
Thats like me putting a wreck on the verge and finding the wifes Discovery gone from the garage and then having them say Sorry we thought it was a wreck...It doesnt matter if its a mini or a rolls royce
its theft..
If your a member of a union at work then ask them if they have a lawyer
you can ascess .
Our union Missos let you have 1 free session.
Or try these places that offer the first session free to see if you have a case.
Ring the Office of consumer affairs and ask for advice.
Ring the police traffic branch and ask for advice.
And tell all of us the place that did the deed so we can blacklist them.
pm if you are worried about legals.
Strangley enough you could ring A current affair they would love that one.
Good luck Pete

Hey Vidler, was that you parked along Mandurah Rd near Golden Bay near the Shell servo? What caught my eye was the lifted L when drivin home tonight, and it happened to be at the place that collects car bodies? I know who they are and where they live too now....hmmmmm

So I wonder how they would like it, if you took their car , from their carport ? So sorry to hear that has happened and yet another rare vehicle has bit the dust. I too, can't believe how calm you are about this.

Legalities, If it was collected on behalf of a registered business, they have to pay you the "retail" cost, + inconvenience $ to find a replacement of the same type. (Did you have any personal stuff in the car?)

You must however be able to prove that you stated NOT the car in the carport, ONLY the one at the top of the driveway ( the hard part) , but if they have already admitted fault, then a lawyer or soliciter should be able to make short work of that. Depending on your income, Legal aid could help, or the Dep of Fair Trading, or whatever is the business name for it over there is.

Mate, I would be FURY - IOUS if that happened to me...

I spose in the long run though, nothing will get it back...

I think they should be informed how rare the car is/was and should be obliged to replace it with this if it's still available and arrange delivery.

If the refuse to do this then, attempt legal action, inform a current afairs, etc.

Maybe you should go and "accidently" take something from them?

On a serious note, have you witnessed the car at their wreckers yard? Is it possible they recognised it for what it is and are pulling a swifty?
