4 Hours, my new record

Post by BRUMBERTY » Fri Jan 13, 2006 11:31 am

Start to finish.
Stripped both front shafts out,
cut off the old boots,
dissassembled the inners,
cleaned everything,
new boots......again
new clamps
new cuts on hands,
cleaned 75% of the grease off (toilet brush and petrol)

I had 2 ciders at this stage, fumes you know!
(clock still running though)

put her all back together.
degreased her and a shower for me!

This was with a hi lift jack and a pit,
I could take an hour out of it with a hoist.
1989 Subaru WonderBrumby II
EJ22 Dual range AWD lifted, widened and much happier now thanks very much.

1991 L Series wagon, white and perfectly normal apart from the ticking, no I think that is normal.

Jet boat..webbered EA81 with a hybrid tin dish welded and glued to it.

I wondered what that stuff in the bags was, thanks Tim.

Made more sense to re- use all the grease that was 3/4 inch thick all over my firewall and gearbox

Hey seriously though it was nice to see absolutely NO WEAR WHATSOVER
on the race and balls on either CV.
Thats with 14 months of hard use with a 3" lift!!
They looked new.

Drop in Jaffa, you're welcome anytime.
Go east until your feet get wet and then turn right.
You will get wet again briefly.
Keep the coast on your left until you see the Wonder Brumby.

It's great fun isn't it, CV grease every where, I did mine not long ago, in no rush to do it again.

For future reference and the benefit of other turps works really well for getting the grease off.
