Ya no lift kit just 14" pugs with 185 x 26"
I got stuck twice but no drama.

L series go anywhere without lift given enough of the right foot. they just get some battle scars and can belly out more. looks like some good pix.

Ya great weekend it's just a shame there was only two Suby's there. It is of course a shame that Bboypebs didn't make but glad his incident wasn't any worse.

Good to see you there John. Sorry the Brumby died and you couldn't see it doing its thing (showin up the bigger 4x4's.) I had to leave the Brumby up at Tony's place as when I got it up on the road it stalled again and then I found oil piss'in out the back of the engine... Not good. Figuring out a way to get it home now, looks like Tony might be able to help me out with getting it into Adelaide.
Hopefully that miss fire is just some electronics that are wet or need replacing, and that oil is just the sump. But it could be a screwed cylinder and a small hole in a piston. We'll have to find out later.

Pitty about bboypebs having the trouble with his Brumby.. Not a good day at all for the Brumby's...

Hi Thomas it is a same the Brumby didn't get the opportunity to shine in front of some critics {they still want call my Suby a 4x4}. Anyway no biggy I had a whale of a time and am looking forward to my next trip.

My brothers going up to loveday on the 8th and 9th of Dec. Its a club that has organized it but they are very open to the public. Dirty Rigs 4x4 is the name. And it seems like pretty much anyone is welcome. I'm going to tag along with him (not in the Brumby) just for a good time. They'll do dinner for you for about $10 I think. Just thought I'd let you know.

Getting it back down here on Saturday.. Then I'll have to fix it. Hoping for just a busted sump seal and something wrong with the electrics. I have plenty of replacement sensors so if it is just a sensor/ignitor/injector then I should be alright.

I just spent $16 at local wash n shine cleaning the Suby man the muck that came of the thing. When I got home I sent on the inside and discovered that I must of hit a couple of those slopes a bit hard last weekend, as I was clean the rear floor mats I noticed the floor was pushed up-wards. The floor went back to its original shape with a simple whack with my palm.
A lift pack will be on my Chistmas list.

Cheap copy of a post off my forum.

This will explain everything with the Brumby being stuck.

Well we were going to get it back on a trailer but we had a look at it. It was only running on the left bank. You could unplug the leads from the right side, and unplug the injectors and she didn't make a difference to the running. So I had a thought that maybe the cam timing was out on the right side. See, I checked the injector plugs, plus every other wire and sensor on the engine and there was nothing wrong. The Fuel pressure was good and it didn't seem to be blocked. Plugs looked good and compression was good.
Sure enough I opened up the timing belt covers to find the right pulley was out by 5 or 6 teeth. As I was trying to put it back together I couldn't find the timing marks on the crank, so I had to use the tdc marks which is hard because the cams dont sit at those by them selves (because as one of the cylinders on one side is firing the other one on that side has a valve open.)
Anyhow, got the Brumby running and drove it home.
Got a few things more to fix on it before I can sell it, but that comes later. If this read a little weird, its because I am severely lacking sleep and have no idea what my fingers are doing.

It's nice to have it back. But now it's just needing fixing and then she's up for sale. Quite a few things to do on her.

Its good news to here you got it back. What do you think is the reason the timing belt slipped? Was the cover loose and when you plowed up that sand dune it imposed its presence.

Covers were all on, but the crank pulley had worn a hole in the cover. Through that deep mud and it got all inside. It must of picked up some harder mud or maybe when it dried and then pulled it through which caused it to slip.
