I nearly started a thread the other day about brackets coz I made a few mean looking ones the other day, but yours is stupendous; you should be proud of that one!

Just an update... rain has held me back a little today... plus i went on to change some brake parts.

However... bracket is now painted and fitted, Supercharger is mounted. Im still waiting on my belt which i prey fits. The pics below might make the bracket make more sence.

Ok... got a belt today and was able to run it... had some slight belt problems which are now pretty much sorted.

Powered up the clutch to find the car hunts for idle constantly while the charger is on.... i guess this is to be expected.

My intake pipes are not up for the challenge and they began to expand up and down (A LOT) like it was a heart beating... looked kinda cool... but they will blow.

Gave the car a little rev to find pretty much every hose join after the Super Charger blew apart... wasn't expecting that much pressure there. Also found the belt would slip at higher RPM so had to tighten that right up... more than you usually would.

Still not sure how im going to wire this thing... im not sure if it would ever idle properly with the charger powered up. Perhaps the ECU would eventually sort it out but as soon as i switched it off it would be confused again.

Sorta thinking about making it off when at idle and activate it when u depress the accelerator a little... and of course on and ON/OFF switch.

So getting there... the thing sounds soo cool... like it growling... scares me a little actually... i have been too scared to attempt to drive it or even rev it above a few thousand RPM.

Need new hoses and hardcore clamps and will try it again.

just chuck a microswitch off the loud pedal

you dont really want it blowing when you back off, so as long as its off when your foot is off the pedal you should be fine

and the more wrap you can get around the pulleys the better!

bahahah your a funny one tristan.....thats total bull ****

my dad has supercharged a number of cars in the past and no sc turning off (99% of them do not turn off ever only the toyota one does this via an aircon type clutch), no blow off valvue, no nothing except a clean supercharer( several where trialed with intercoolers but did absoluyttley nothing). At idle they remained the same...idled nicely...but still maintained boost...no problems.

if your interrested in what knowledge i got then ring me and ill happily talk...but im not gonna say anything on here due to the huge range in opinions around :)

but the cars that he did supercharge where a HK GTS monaro first engine was a 251 with a sc bolted on top produced in excess of 600hp, later going to a fuel injected 308 with a vortec supercharger producing 578hp
2nd car was a standard supercharged v6 commonwhore VT in nature, removed stock sc and put on a yella terra roots type supercharger producing 9 pounds boost and produced 343hp on stock internals
3rd car he supercharged was an old torana with a heavily worked 454 v8 with a huge powerdyne supercharger and twin holley 600cfu carbies producing over 600 hp again.

My old boy used to be a r and d engineer for cappa superchargers over east ...but ill sotp there...ha!!

it will be vastly diffrent on boxer engines but the main principals remain the same

peace out
:D

Dave i think i need you to come over and check this thing out... im seriously scared of this thing.

How much pressure should i be expecting after the super charger... seams the more i rev it the more pressure... i thought the pressure was meant to stay the same no matter what RPM.
