Is This old Air Suspension equipment

Post by Bumpty » Tue Oct 02, 2007 2:06 pm

EDIT: Does the "random cord" pic show up now?

I've just been trying to install my new 6" speakers in the back of my gen1 lib wagon just net to where the shockies are attached and came across this:

Top view of shockies/speaker position - Image

Random cord - Image

...You're looking at the silver (aluminum?) tub which wont let the new speakers in with a slightly bigger magnet.
It's only next to the right hand shockies and not the left side, i was just wondering if i can pull it out and thats its just old Air Suspension equipment?
Whats the Random cord aswell?

cheers,

The alloy pressing is for tank vapour release as Justin has already said but you can "dent" it a bit to better rear speakers without causing an issue. I put 6in speakers in there and had to do that. If you are putting some good speakers in there use some thins cotton to stick to the underside of the Liberty speaker cages to keep dirt out.

I cant see what the random cord is as the pic dont come up

i made a ply wood panel to go lift the speaker up,which bolts to those stud that are there, cut it to the shape of the plastic cover, works well,

suggestion if you have 2 or 3 way speakers in the back with a hole in the center of the cone, go and get some hair nets, the white cotton type ones and cover the speakers, were they are in the back gets sand and dirt in them and make them sound like crap!!!!

Cheers for the tips,
They fit in much better now. Just need to find some *protection linen* for them now :)
