Rural Speed Limits!

Post by Bumpty » Sat Sep 22, 2007 10:31 pm

Who's heard of the recent proposal for rural roads down south to be adjusted to 90kms for sealed roads and 80kms for gravel?

What do you all think, they might even be considered up here, north as well.
I'd prefer them to stay 100 default and then travel at any odd speed,
I'm interested in how'd they will monitor this as well, thoughts...

I suppose it makes sense for Tasmania. Dropping the speed limit to less than 80-90km/hr will give people an opportunity to travel for at least one hour when driving from the island's East coast to the West coast.

After all, Tasmania is a pretty small island, and by the time some vehicles have accelerated up to 100km/hr, it's then time to start braking to avoid flying off the other side.

Ya great state to visit. But there drivers very rarely go fast enough to get into top gear. It make it easy to over take them.

Gold!

Give the man a decent beer.

The locals do laps....swapping direction periodically to avoid dizzyness.
