posted similar message a few days ago but seems to dissappeared into the never never! anyway I curently run a stock standard l series on 185/75-14s mainly to gain extra height while on the beach. Works most of the time but I have noticed a loss of ability for hard work in low range because of these.
I was on the noosa north shore last weekend and all access racks were badly torn up. My subi had to work faily hard on lowered tyre pressures to get through.
Im planning a trip up there again in June but this time towing a camper trailer behind me and im concerned that the extra weight may be too much for the car with 14s and loss of grunt in low range and wondered wether I should go back to the 13s for the trip
Has anybody experimented with the different size wheels in similar situations and which way did they go????
wheels 13s v 14s for towing

its all a compromise. if you go back to your stock tyres your going to have less ground clearance and a smaller tyre footprint.
if you keep the 14's on you will lose some grunt.
185/75R14 is a good size for a stock L. my old man runs these and doesnt have any issues at noosa.
