Radius rod bushes... which way??

Post by SuBaRiNo » Fri Apr 27, 2007 6:08 pm

What way should radius rod bushes go on and L and MY??

I have installed mine a while back but since i have had the oportunity to play around with another subi that appeared to have the factory bushes installed the opposite way to mine.

Should the tappered end of the bush face into the mount on the body or should they face away from the body mount??

I have no idea what you guys do with them over there, but here in Queensland / New South Wales I have had ZERO Failures! I have sold some where in the vicinity of 50 sets..............

They have functioned fine.. although there is a clunk noise that i can not get rid of... and i think it's the radius rod going up and down slightly. I can defintely see how putting them in the opposite way (as is from factory) and as Point has suggested would help prevent the movement i have.

Perhaps the fact i don't run a sway bar was making much more movement in my suspension components leading to the failure of both sets of Nolathane bushes i tryed.

Well i have reversed them now... so they more suit the factory fitment and not how the recomended fitting instructions from the suspension companys. It now seams the clunk i had is gone and they look like they fit a lot more snug... i will see how they hold up.
