L series and Liberty clutch fork difference??

Post by SuBaRiNo » Sun Apr 08, 2007 2:45 pm

Has anyone sat an L series and Liberty clutch fork next to each other to see if there is much of a difference??

Would a lib fork work on an L box??

Yeah that would be great... so far i have only looked at some pics in the Gregories manuals... conveniently the photo they have of the forks has simply been directly copied out of the L series manual.

When I put my EJ gearbox into my L series it was missing the fork. I tried fitting an L series fork to it - it was way off. Absolutely no way it would fit. The main problem was the pivot point (dimple bit) was in a completely different position. Consequently I had to source an actual EJ fork. After all of that I discovered there were even slight differences in EJ models of forks too.
As far as I know all EA ones are the same though.

I'll be at my house tomorrow, I'll see if I can try sticking the spare EJ fork I have onto one of my EA boxes and take a photo for you.

I am running a Liberty clutch fork on my "L" series gearbox.

Fits no problems, It is a little longer & has a bigger curve. It makes the pedal feel lighter.....

Also... in your opinion would the Lib one be stronger??? I think i have busted my sencond one now... they keep splitting at the pivot point where it clips to the gear box.

It was from an AWD gearbox. Stronger... don’t know I would assume that they would be in better condition as less age & Kms.
