Window Wider clip remaval

Is there some funky little trick or a little tool or thing-a-me-jig that you can buy to get the little c clip (or what ever they are) out of the window winder so you can remove the interior door trim?

Drill a 13mm hole in the middle of a piece of 20x3 mm flat bar near the end. Cut the end of midway along the hole, you'll now have a piece of flat bar that has a half circle in one end, push it behind the window winder and push the clip off. You'll need to be sure an orient the pusher to the right end of the clip too, oh yeah, and be sure an watch where the clip flies off to :P

Or just bend a piece of heavy gauge fencing wire into a tight u and hook the middle of the "C". Worked for me... when i had window winders....

or you can use a piece or rag and work it up between the winder and the door untill the clip comes off. but as said before watch where the jesus clip flies off too.

Or got sick of buying expensive (for what they are) window winders when my gorilla hands brake them....

yeh i know youve solved the prob, but you can get a tool which goes underneath and pops the clip off...

I've always managed to do it without damaging anything just with a little bit of bent wire and a small flat-head screw driver.

652 different ways to skin a rabbit... I just use needle nose pliers and push the door trim in, towards the outside of the car. Its very easy to get the C clip off just a bit harder to get it aligned to stick it back on.

This is actually something I have to do to each new car I get (not very often lol), as the winder handle is usually facing up when the window is up. And being over 6 foot that is very uncomfortable for my knee, so off comes the handle and re position it so that its down when the window is up.

put the clip on the winder before refitting it then just line it up and tap it firmly into position.

i managed to do it with just a small flat screwdriver and a bit of prising with my fingers. it did take me like 15 mins to get one off tho the first time i tried tho.

no one mentions zipping into auto parts place and shelling out 5 to 10 bucks for the tool. Then, don't just use it to push the clip out as I have done for years. I was watchn a youngster shove tool in place and just turn winder a turn or so and it just winds clip off and do not always send clips flying. !!

always used a long skinny screw driver, try to remember to hold hand on oposing side to catch it! installing, gee i forget, couldn't have been too difficult.....
lol on buying special little tools like that, me, i wouldn't find the darn thing when needed....

takes up no room in the bottom of a toolbox. struggled for years with other tools or borrowed.felt so tight after buying one and getting the little buggers off in seconds

yeah and the tool is also good for removing door trims so you dont break the little plastic clips...
