Bearings are the same, BUT one of the oil seals is different... I recently tried putting in an L series kit to an MY :?

get a set of sealed (2rs) bearings (easy and cheap) and just reuse your old oil seals. If you knock the bearings out before removing the seals it doesn't damage the seals. Use an old bearing as the seal installer. A set of four sealed units won't be more than $40 the code is on the old bearings, but I am pretty sure they are 6207's anyone here with an L or MY that goes offroad will be able to tell you - they are bitches for eating bearings on water crossings...

I agree the bearing are the same, and the seals are different. I know this for sure as i have used MY/Brumby bearings in my brother L series sucessfully. (long story as to why)

Smoov I haven't had a problem at all with mine. Have had them in for a while now (maybe 2 years).

bit of a bump :)

im about to go order the bearings from my local subaru.. now only the front right bearing is noisy and loose, will i only need to order the 1 bearing for that side or is it better to do both sides at the same time?

I think there are two bearings per side? I need to do mine as well.

Both sides at once, because generally if one bearing is gone the others aren't far behind. This saves doing it a couple of months down the track.
Peejay there are 2 per side.
