Adjusting the Hitachi carb

Post by GTlegs » Wed Sep 27, 2006 11:00 am

To make the carb run leaner/richer, which way do I need to turn the mixture screw?

Also, how do people adjust their carb without any tools?

Thanks

the correct way to adjust it is to screw it in (while the engine is running) just until it starts to run rough and then slowly screw it out until it runs smooth (in is lean out is rich) and leave it at that id reset the idle at the same time and re-check the timing as well.... you will need tools to do this job....

So as soon as the engine runs smooth, I should leave the screw, right?
