Recovery and spares what do you carry?

The one thing everyone hates is to be out in the middle of no were with some major bog or car related breakdown.

I just wanted to get a thread going were people can list or throw in ideas of what recovery techniques or tools they take out. Also not forgetting spare parts..

Spares & Lubricants

- Coolant & Water
- Carby Cleaner
- WD 40
- Oil. Engine & Brake
- Front Strut & Spring
- Rear Strut & Spring
- Tire x1 (Sedans don’t have heaps of room!)

Tools
- Ratchet Spanners
- Socket Set
- 2x Wheel brace
- Misc Toolkit
- Saw

Recovery
- Chain & Shackles
- 2x Jacks

I thinks that’s it, old carby banger doesn’t have as many probs as me efi did :P

Torch and fluro work light
Power inverter
Air jack
Snatch Strap
Jack or blocks to raise height of stock jack
Change of clothes
GPS
Radius Rod
CV parts and full replacement (front and rear)
Cable Ties
Multi perpose Grease
Spanner or socket to suit stud axle bolts...
Assortment of nuts and bolts and screws
Electrical Wire
Multimeter
Hoses... radiator, evap, fuel

Ummm... there is a lot more if u want me to keep going. Just basing it on things i have needed when out bush.

Spares : 2 x spare rear CV, 1 x spare front CV, 2 x front strut-spring, 2 x stubb axle, various hoses and bolts of random sizes, radius rod, 2 x spare tyres, water, coolant, oils ( both engine and gearbox ), and other random stuff. Mind you it's never anything I take spares for that actually breaks

-Air compressor
-tyre gauge
-emergency tyre repairer and inflator
-jumper cables and or jump starter
-lots of rags
-CB radio
-mobile
-RAC roadside assist card
-tyre valve cores
-another car to pull you out.

If it was an MY i would say strut tops and spring compressors... EFI cars i suggest taking a spare EFI pump. a Jerry can with fuel is a good idea. And a DVD player and TV screen for if u get stuck overnight. LOL

On a trip long trip i carry a spare CV and boots as well as a tub of grease and hand cleaner
A tarp to lay on or use as shelter either one. Change of clothes

haha yes, my old car which I never bothered actually putting ANY of the rear bumper fasteners back in

was always just held in by the little clips in the centre

Where do you guys go that you need to carry a spare front strut?
I've bent and broken a few front struts, busted a few rubber strut tops, smashed the odd DOJ, cracked a front hub/bearing carrier and even snapped the shaft on a rear coilover shock when racing but with all those I could still drive home.
