Meet the Admin / Moderators ...

Post by Bantum » Tue Jan 19, 2016 1:42 am

For those who would you like to know who's who & the best person to contact on this forum ... :D
( Don't go hassling them with erroneous stuff or spam though )

So here is a list of ...

Admin : ( or Senior Member - Who can edit entire site )
Moderator : ( Supervise - will need more )
Super Moderator : ( Can edit & move some stuff )
There are a few other categories : ( Mostly don't have any privileges )

Gold Subscriber ( paid up member )
Member ( ? )
Junior Member ( ? )
Not subscribed ( the majority )

? - I'm not sure exactly what they mean - could be carried over from old system ? ...

More details of subscription here : Subcriptions

A full list of members can also be found here : Members List

Notes : I have included all the known personnel & their roles, but there may be others who are no longer active or ones I don't know about.

* To the moderator / admin - They may want to add to / move this thread / make a sticky ...

Edits : I'll come back to fix / add more later - Jul 2018 ...
& still to need to update this - Jul 2020

Cheers, Bantum ...

Further info as to origin of post, there has been queries ( by me & others ) in regards to who else can admin the site & is authorised to make changes - It would also be good to know if we need extra mods etc.

Ciao, Bantum ...

Yeah Bantum I reckon the site needs a number of reassessments as we seem to be dropping off with new posts while other updated forums seem to be taking off.

I reckon a restructure with model categories could be a good help for organisation and attracting new and old members back to the forum.

My 20c worth anyway ;)

Cheers

Oh hey, don't hang around these parts to much anymore but pop in from time to time, don't have too much mod control but can do some stuff.

Cheers

I always thought that Brett (Outback Bloke) ran this site and as such was the Admin.
Maybe I don't understand the structure of the site either.

Nominations for Admin ...

Post by Bantum » Tue Aug 09, 2016 10:14 pm

Outback Bloke - You might want to consider promoting one or more of the current Super Moderators to 'Admin' ( if they'll accept that is ) + add few more Moderators ...

I'll nominate Yarney for a Admin position, as he has good understanding of tech issues.

For myself - I'd be happy & able to do basic 'Moderation' duties ... :)

I'd be happy to be a mod too and do my best to keep up with this (teaching and all, you know, lots of holidays and no work at home :p).

Think some of this info has changed since the rollover to a new web host,
I'm not sure who is a moderator now, but Bennie has been promoted to a 'master' ... :p

I’m liking the new titles Toonga, I didn’t know who or how that was done.

As for the Mod status, I’m now counted in - short learning curve but it’s going well ;)

I’m looking forward to some new activity and members as well as more activity from “returned” members.

Cheers

Many years ago I was a super moderator on a "warez" board I remembered most of it from then

New activity is good as long as it isn't Viagra sellers ;)

Thanks mate! It keeps us busy behind the scenes each week, even though it’s “unfortunately rare” for new posts or new threads.

Can’t complain though. The forum and all its content is still here, even if it’s hard to search for old info atm. Seems threads with new posts are the ones that come up in searches for some reason.

Updates ...

Post by Bantum » Sat Oct 31, 2020 1:58 pm

Haven't tried searching the old threads yet - ( assuming they are all there )

I'm liking the new site & being able to still access the old stuff, but there's more to be done I think.

Don't know if its possible, but it would be good to be able to edit some of the titles / pages / layouts to clean up & fix stuff ... 8)

Cheers, Bantum ...

We can do that for you @Bantum. Let us know which thread and what you want changed ;)

The larger things like fixing all the smilies etc is an AndyT thing. I don’t know how often he drops in here and nor do I have direct contact with him. Toonga might.

Roles & Permissions ...

Post by Bantum » Sat Nov 07, 2020 1:34 am

Thanks goes to the Admin guys for getting stuff sorted, much appreciated ... ;)

Wonder if possible to get some consistency / review of the naming protocols for members roles & permissions ...

Suggested the following categories : ( Roll - Permissions ) Not completely sure what all the features entail ...

Admin / Moderator
  • Admin - All features
  • Sub ( Junior ) Admin - Standard features
  • Super Moderator - full moderator features
  • Moderator - standard moderator features
User / Guest
  • Member - standard features
  • Guest - Limited features
( I'll come back to fill in the rest when find the right path )

I propose to delete / merge all other categories to help clean up the confusion & present simplified face ... :)

Cheers, Bantum ...
