how to tow an L series

step 1: get a new l series without a liftkit bogged onto its chassis.
step 2: attach tow/snatch strap to tow points, but if it doesnt fit thru attach to roo bar.
step 3: start to let the clutch out as the strap goes taut from the ej20g wagon pulling u infront.
step 4: ...
step:5: stop the car, get out, and look at the damage.

ouch!
did that once when I pulled a 4wd out. took another 4wd to pull me out and I 'moved' my tow hitch a fraction doing it.

Even the missus knows not to use the roo bar and only to use the tow points. remind me never to get bogged with you guys

Ouch man, looks like a valuable lesson learnt. Whose EJ20G wagon was it that did the damage? Andrew's?

I'm guessing the lift kit is a higher priority now.

bugga mate oh well, atleast u get to work on the sube again!... any excuse to have a play.a few of the boys down here in Tas are having a fiddle with the white wagons today, c what we can find, or break lol.... fair bit of damage by the looks of it mate like every1 has said now u know... thats the best way to learn. cheers Ben

for the record i did try and fit the snatch to the tow point but it wouldnt fit through the loop, so we thought the roo bar will be ok...

im not too upset by the damage- not as much as mum haha- just needs a new bumper frame really-fixed the lights already.
yeh and it was andrewT's pulling power.

ummm, heard of a D shackle?
You shouldn't be feeding the snatch strap through the hook itself.

oh well, we live & learn from our mistakes.

yeh a d shackle is next on my things to buy before the next outing, the list also includes lift kit, new suspension, kings and wheels.

It was the large shackle that wouldn't fit through the tow point.
Heh.... also for the record, these little loops of metal aren't even supposed to be tow points let alone snatch points. They are just tie-down points used for shipping!
Supid us anyways, we all should have known that would happen !

btw Matt, come grab the new bumper frame off me any time.
