ea82 vacumm hoses help needed asap

Post by grytvikken » Tue Aug 08, 2006 6:32 pm

i am putting my original hitachi carb back onto my L-series wagon and i am having heaps of trouble with the locations of all the bloody vacumm hoses. does anyone have a resourse that will show what hose goes where? my manual is bloody useless. can you get rid of some of the hoses. there are so many of the damn things.

would some photos be good enough? yeah those hoses have annoyed me aswell - couldnt work out why car was idling like shit - one of the hoses had dropped off the connection. Might have to take the air filter off to see for a photo I guess... hmmm

well i guess a photo would be a big help. unfortunately all my hoses were removed and now they all need to be replaced back in their original positions. any idea if some of them can be blocked off? i am sure most are just emissions related. thanks for any help though.

Try blocking all the hoses coming out of the manifold/motor. This should help with idling

can you just block off all apart from fuel lines and the vacumm advance hose. it would make life a lot easier

I've seen it done. Its illegal, but will give you better power and economy.

You basically leave all the hoses on, but put bolts/plugs on the ends, I am not sure which ones though.
