Lifting a 2007 3rd Gen Impreza R hatch in Adelaide cheapish?

Post by fuzzybabybunny » Sat Nov 10, 2018 2:18 pm

Hi all, I'm an American who recently bought a 2007 Impreza R MY08 hatchback (3rd gen) with the hopes of taking it around a big lap around all of Australia. A lot of national parks have 4WD-only roads and I'm thinking about getting my Impreza lifted 2" to be kind of like a poor man's Crosstrek.

I have the Crosstrek back in the USA and it has been an excellent travel and soft roader for the USA and Canada as well as being a great fuel saver on the CVT at 6.5L/100km highway (actual measured). Unfortunately they were out of my price range so I got the manual Impreza for $4,600.

I'll be in Adelaide for the next few days. Wondering what are my options for getting the Impreza lifted 2" somewhat cheaply? I'll mostly be cruising the highways, not taking hard turns or anything. I just want some more clearance so I don't kill the car while going slowly over rocks on rough and rutted tracks.

Forester struts would be a good start I reckon.

If you wanted to go further, contact NachaLuva (Subi Lift Oz) for a lift kit ;)

Cheers

Bennie
