Yeah maybe but their effort pales into insignificance compared to the effort you've put into the idea!

Looking insane mate!

Also, small tub does look silly on that silver ute^.
You should make another tub which is longer to see what it looks like.

...maybe even a flat tray option too haha

Update ...

Post by Bantum » Fri Sep 16, 2016 3:53 am

Time for a bit of an update, as it's been a while since I've worked on this ...

Took the paper model out for its first showing the other day :

Image

Didn't win anything but ... :(

Was doing some research on an updated front end, something like the look of the 'KenStyle' as shown elsewhere on here.

Image

Might see if I can get them loaded up on the model ... :-D

P.S. - I may also have found a willing hand to make the full size prototype ...
Will post more when I have something concrete confirmed ...

Did you win the lotto mate??

Looks like a good bit if merchandise there!

Updated front end could be interesting. Have you thought about extending the tub to have a bit more of a rear overhang and a more useful tub?

Next could be a 4 door variant with longer wheel base to keep the rear end in the middle of the tray ;)

Just thoughts though, I an only imagine the effort needed to produce anything like this!

Cheers

Things to do ...

Post by Bantum » Sat Dec 03, 2016 1:48 am

Nuh - I wish - that would help pay for a few things if did win ... :)

Still got to finish what I started ages ago, so not even considering doing any of the other stuff you mentioned until I've done with these :
  • Finish the 1/10 scale model.
  • Finish 3D model. ( with updates )
  • Finish Display Drawings. ( with updated front end )
  • Finish Presentation Banner. ( also with updates )
  • Fundraising for a full scale version ...
  • Drawings / notes for the conversion ...
That's just what I can think of for now, so will be busy for a while yet ... ;)
( may come back to update )

P.S. - That list doesn't include all the work that needs doing for my Brumby as well ... :(

Re: 3D Printer ...

Post by Bantum » Sun Jan 30, 2022 1:32 pm

The 3D printer came with basic assembly instructions & there's a on line site ... TBA.

Haven't added up the total cost, but the main part was around $400 mark. Will have to do a break down to see where I'm at.

The goal here is to be able to print with ABS/PETG for the more unobtainable model components. ( Light buckets, Door mirrors, etc. )

Next step in finishing the Tamyia XV Ute model is to get all the printed parts finalised & get some painting done.

Looks like the kind of car you'd work on when it's too cold and wet outside for the real thing

Good stuff Bantum, watching with interest.
