Dings

Post by majordad1 » Fri Jun 19, 2015 12:07 pm

My Brumby has a lot of little dings in the panels, mostly doors and sides of the tray which detract from it's other wise good condition.
Has anybody tried those $20 Ebay Dent Removal kits, the Glue and pull type I am talking about ? Majordad

My dad tried one. It pulls the paint off, so unless you're doing a respray it won't do well. Plus it didn't pull the dents out to flat again
But they were hail damage dents

If you have access to some of the tools show in the thread, you could give it a go yourself - other wise try & find a local tradie that does this kinda work.

Cheers, Bantum ...

not seen the 20 buck jobbies, but can imagine just how good you would be with one :p :p

I have something way better, just my skill set would be same as yours when it comes to the refinement required to fix the things.
I have found in summer, the US sourced glue sticks would let go the paint, in winter, the glue let go on the puller side.

Snap on did a glue puller kit - comes in a first aid kit size tool box, bit over 800 bucks.

A decent US sourced dent pusher kit about 3 to 5 k, then there are the intensive one week courses for about five grand, and if you just cannot get the hang of it like a greater number of them I suspect, you got youself a fancy set of pool cues or golf clubs.

I've watched the pro's , seen stuff they have done before and after, with years of experience. They can get overuse injuries getting to that level. The 20 bucks on ebay ??? Be a waste of money if you thought you could duplicate results . I wasted a lot more on DVDs and my mini-lifter , though in the hands of a pro, sure th tool will work wonders
